“Southern Hospitality” is a curated event designed to showcase the rich musical tapestry of the American South, blending both mainstream and underground sounds. From the deep roots of gospel, blues, and jazz to the modern vibrations of bounce, trap, and Southern soul, the event celebrates the region’s diverse sonic legacy. will guide the audience through a journey that honors tradition while spotlighting emerging subcultures—from juke joints to block parties, church choirs to basement clubs — it’s a tribute to the soundscapes that continue to shape the Southern identity and influence music worldwide.

The Filipino connection to New Orleans dates back to the 18th century, when Filipino sailors known as “Manilamen” settled in Louisiana bayous like Saint Malo and Manila Village—among the first Asian-American communities in the U.S. These early settlers influenced the region’s seafood industry through shrimp drying techniques and contributed to the cultural mix that defines New Orleans today. Over time, Filipinos blended into the city’s Creole, African-American, and French heritage, subtly shaping local cuisine and music. Though early villages were lost to hurricanes, a vibrant Filipino-American community remains, celebrating its legacy through food, festivals, and ongoing cultural contributions.

For the month of April, entry we will remain at a sliding scale donation with a suggested donation of $10 on Wed & Thurs and will have an entry fee on Fri & Sat.
